Good to know
- The layout is the 2-set keyboard (두벌식), Korea's standard keyboard layout and the default Korean input on a Mac. What you learn here works on a real Korean keyboard.
- Consonants sit on the left side of the keyboard and vowels on the right.
- Typed Korean with the keyboard still set to English, and got something like "gksrmf"? Paste it into "Fix text typed in the wrong mode" to get 한글 back.
- The Listen button uses your browser's Korean voice, so the sound depends on your device and browser.

Questions
How do I type Korean on an English keyboard?
Use the keys on this page or your own keyboard: each English key types one Korean letter in the 2-set layout. G is ㅎ, K is ㅏ and S is ㄴ, so typing gks gives 한.
How do I type double consonants like ㄲ or ㅆ?
Hold Shift (or tap Shift on the screen keyboard) and press the key for the single letter: Shift + R gives ㄲ and Shift + T gives ㅆ.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Tap the keys under the text box. Your phone's own keyboard stays closed so it does not cover the Korean keys.
Does this translate Korean?
No, it types Korean letters. To see what your text means, tap Papago after you type and Naver's translator opens with your text.
Is my text saved anywhere?
No. We do not see or save your text, and it is gone when you close the page. Naver gets it only if you tap one of its buttons, and Listen uses your browser's speech voice.
