A spring festival on Gwangalli Beach in Busan celebrating the area's fishing village heritage, featuring a historical musical performance, folk village, and drone-and-fireworks shows over the iconic Gwangan Bridge, with free entry throughout.
The Gwangalli Eobangg Festival revives the Jwasuyeong Eobangg Nori, the fishing-village communal tradition of the old Left Naval Headquarters, designated a national intangible cultural heritage. Against the backdrop of Gwangan Bridge lit up at night, the festival mixes historical drama with the beach-city energy Gwangalli is known for. More than 20 folk exhibitions and hands-on activities run alongside the main musical performance. The festival was newly designated to the MCST 2026-2027 list as one of Busan's three recognised Cultural Tourism Festivals.
Take Busan Metro Line 2 to Gwangan Station, then walk 10 minutes to Gwangalli Beach. From Busan KTX Station, take Metro Line 1 to Seomyeon, transfer to Line 2 to Gwangan (total about 40 minutes).
The main evening show, including the drone display and fireworks, is best viewed from the beachfront promenade. Gwangalli Beach is one of the most foreigner-friendly areas of Busan with many multilingual restaurants nearby. Confirm exact 2026 dates via Visit Busan or the Suyeong-gu website closer to the event, as they were unannounced at time of research.
