You find an internship in Korea through a listing site, a city program, an international organization, a company program, or your university. Company programs set their own Korean-language bar, so check the Korean-level line on each notice.
This guide lists the channels that exist today and links each official page. It also names routes that are closed to foreigners or are not a direct application, so you can skip them. For the legal test of when an intern must be paid, and for the D-2 permit, the D-10 one-company limit, and the K-Trainee visa, read How to Do an Internship in Korea as a Foreign Student or Graduate.

- Who can apply: students enrolled at that university.
- Visa note: a D-2 practicum required by law, or one run under the standard field-practice semester (표준 현장실습학기제), does not need the part-time work permit. The internship visa guide explains the difference.

What internships pay
Pay varies by employer, and company notices often state no amount. Ask for the amount in writing before you accept.
For comparison, the 2026 minimum wage (최저임금) is ₩10,320 per hour. That equals ₩2,156,880 per month on a 40-hour week (209 hours per month). The minimum wage rises to ₩10,700 per hour on January 1, 2027, which equals ₩2,236,300 per month at 209 hours.
The minimum wage applies to a person who counts as a worker under Korean labor law. Whether your internship meets that test depends on the work you do. Read the test in the internship visa and pay guide before you accept an unpaid offer.
When to apply
Programs follow school vacations. The SK hynix and Hyundai Motor programs ran in summer, and Hyundai Motor's 2025 round started on June 30. Each program publishes its own dates. Use this as a planning guide, then check the current call.
Not open to you, or not a direct application
Skip these so you do not lose time on them.
- Work24 youth work experience (청년일경험, 미래내일 일경험). Read the participation restrictions (참여 제한 사유) in the recruitment call, and ask the operator whether it accepts people without Korean nationality before you apply.
- K-Trainee visa (기업 맞춤형 인턴십, D-4-2K). A Korean company invites you and applies for your visa issuance certificate. You cannot apply to it on your own. It is for students in the third year or above (age 29 or under, master's and doctoral students included) with TOPIK Level 2 or higher, at a university that partners with the inviting company, and for staff hired by the company's local subsidiary, in Vietnam, China, Thailand, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, or the Philippines. The rules are in the internship visa guide.
- Samsung foreign-student recruiting. Samsung Display published a notice recruiting foreign students for research and development (R&D) roles, with an application window from August 20 to September 2 and a note that it runs twice a year. The notice does not say whether the roles are internships or full-time jobs.
