Can foreigners get a work visa for marketing roles in Korea?
95 of the 140 marketing roles in Korea we have read are professional roles that usually hire foreign staff on the E-7 visa. Your employer usually applies for the E-7 for you, so ask the recruiter early whether they sponsor it. If you hold an F-2, F-4, F-5 or F-6 visa, you can usually take these roles without sponsorship.
Which marketing roles in Korea are foreigner-friendly?
Global marketing, international PR, content marketing for English-language audiences, partnerships with global brands, and performance marketing for non-Korean markets. Korean-domestic brand and consumer marketing usually require native-level Korean.
Are there marketing jobs for K-pop / K-entertainment?
Yes. HYBE labels (BIGHIT, PLEDIS, ADOR, SOURCE MUSIC, BELIFT), Naver Webtoon, and Netflix Korea all hire foreign marketers, especially for Western fan engagement, English-language content, and overseas partnership work. Korean fluency isn't always required but media-fluency in K-pop / K-content is.
Does a marketing job qualify for an E-7 visa?
Often, yes. Marketing roles usually map to E-7 code 2733 (Advertising and PR Expert) or 2731 (Product Planning Expert). Immigration looks at your main duties and your degree, so a role that is mostly data analysis may fit 2231 (Data Specialist) instead. Confirm the code with your employer before documents are drafted. Your employer usually files the application for you.
