Common questions

Why does the job posting matter?

The Korean cover letter (자기소개서) is not one document. Different Korean companies ask different prompts: formative experiences (성장과정), motivation (지원동기), job competency (직무역량), aspirations after joining (입사 후 포부), sometimes more. A generic 자기소개서 answers prompts the job ad never asked, which is why it reads as off. We pull the actual prompts from the listing you're applying to and answer those, with your CV as the source material.

What if I don't have a specific job posting yet?

You can still generate a baseline Korean resume (이력서) and a generic Korean cover letter (자기소개서) to one of the four standard prompts. Re-run it with the job posting once you find the role you want, and we re-tailor the 자기소개서 in seconds.

I already have a CV (English or Korean). Can I just get it tailored?

Yes. Upload whatever you have, English CV, Korean 이력서, Korean 자기소개서, or any combination. If the job posting is in Korean, we tailor the 자기소개서 to the company's actual prompts, reformat the 이력서 to spec, and run 격식체 and 띄어쓰기 checks. If the posting is in English, we tailor an English ATS-format CV and cover letter to the role, with Korea-specific recruiter conventions baked in. You don't need to bring both languages, just whatever you have.

How do you decide which language to output in?

We read the job posting's language and the company type. A Korean-language posting at a domestic Korean company gets a Korean 이력서 + 자기소개서 in formal Korean (격식체). An English-language posting at a foreign-affiliated firm (외국계), multinational, or English-speaking startup (Toss, LINE Plus, Coupang Eats) gets an English ATS-format CV and cover letter. When a posting explicitly asks for both, you get both in parallel. You can override the choice in the tool if you want.

Why HWP, not just PDF?

Many large Korean companies (대기업) and public institution portals (and a surprising number of mid-size Korean HR teams) still require Hangul Word Processor (.hwp) files. PDF and DOCX get rejected at upload. No global resume tool produces HWP. We do.

Can't I just feed the job posting to ChatGPT?

You can, and the output will read as off in both directions. For Korean-language jobs, generic AI tools don't know real 자기소개서 prompt structures (성장과정, 지원동기, 직무역량, 입사 후 포부), can't enforce formal Korean (격식체) or word spacing (띄어쓰기), don't produce HWP files, and miss Korean 이력서 conventions like the 35×45mm photo and TOPIK / OPIc / GPA-on-its-scale fields. For English-language Korea jobs, generic tools miss the visa-status line, mishandle Korean education and credential formatting, and don't know which 외국계 firms scan with which ATS. We've built Korea-specific rules around the AI for both directions.

Is this AI? Will it sound like AI slop?

Yes, AI does the heavy lifting on the rewrite. The difference from generic AI tools is the Korea-specific rules we've built around it: real 자기소개서 prompt structures pulled from actual Korean job ads, formal Korean (격식체) enforcement, fields Korean recruiters expect on an 이력서, GPA scale and visa-status conventions, HWP file output, and on the English side, Korea-specific ATS formatting and 외국계 recruiter conventions. We also check formality and spacing before export, so the Korean output reads like a Korean applicant wrote it, and the English output reads like a Korea-savvy applicant wrote it.

What if the job is in English? Will the output match what Korean recruiters expect?

Yes. English-language Korea jobs (외국계, multinationals, Toss, LINE Plus, Coupang Eats) read CVs differently than US or UK firms do. We bake in the conventions Korean-based English-medium recruiters look for: visa-status line up top, Korean education and credentials formatted so they parse correctly, OPIc / TOEIC scores when relevant, and an ATS-friendly structure that survives Workday, Greenhouse, and Lever scans.

My Korean is not great. Will the Korean output sound natural?

Yes. When the job is in Korean, the rewrite happens in Korean from the start, not word-by-word from English. The default reads naturally to Korean recruiters, and you can tweak tone before export.

What if my visa does not let me work freely yet?

Your visa status appears on the Korean resume (이력서) so recruiters know upfront. If you're still figuring out your visa path, the visa finder is free.

How much will it cost?
