F-2-7 points calculator

Free tool

Add up your score for Korea's points-based residence visa. You need 80 points.

1. The basics

Taxable income only. Untaxed meal and transport allowances do not count.

2. Bonus points (up to 40)

Top-ranked means QS World University Rankings top 500 or Times Higher Education top 200, in the 5 years before you apply. Only bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees earn this bonus.

3. Deductions

Some records stop an application before any points count: a prison sentence (suspended included) in the past 5 years, a fine of ₩3 million or more that became final in the past 3 years, 3 or more Immigration Act violations with ₩5 million or more in fines in the past 3 years, or false documents in the past 3 years.

How the F-2-7 score works

The F-2-7 table has common items, bonus items and deductions. Common items are age (up to 25), education (up to 25), Korean ability (up to 20) and annual income (up to 60), so they stop at 130. Bonus items stop at 40, which makes 170 the maximum. Deductions can take away up to 70. The pass mark is 80.

TOPIK and KIIP share one Korean-ability column, so the same tier earns the same points either way. KIIP Stage 5 completion also earns a separate 10-point bonus. TOPIK has no matching bonus.

Income comes from your tax-office income certificate, not your contract. This calculator uses the table in Ministry of Justice Notice No. 2025-408, in force from 24 October 2025.
