What you'd do
- Prepare ingredients for cooking by portioning,chopping,washing,and storing food for main kitchen service
- Weigh,measure,and mix ingredients and prepare food according to recipes and quality standards
- Operate ovens,stoves,grills,microwaves,and fryers and monitor food quality during preparation
What they want
- Kitchen or culinary background with experience preparing food according to quality and presentation standards
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment including ovens,stoves,grills,and fryers safely
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle objects up to 25 pounds during work shifts
Nice to have
- Prior experience as a Commis or kitchen prep cook in a hotel or high-volume restaurant kitchen
- Familiarity with kitchen food safety standards and HACCP or equivalent hygiene certification requirements
