About this festival
Gasi-ri holds Jeju's largest canola field, a plateau carpet of bright yellow that peaks in early April. The 43rd Seogwipo Canola Flower Festival runs April 4 to 5, 2026, with an opening ceremony, busking, a night opening on April 4, and the Canola Run path through the blooms. The Jorangmal Experience Park setting on Jeju's central plateau, with views toward both coastlines on clear days, is one of the most striking festival sites on the island.
Getting there
Fly to Jeju International Airport, then take a local bus toward Pyoseon-myeon (about 1 hour) or a taxi to Gasi-ri (about 50 minutes). A rental car is strongly recommended for Jeju's inland plateau; the route from Jeju City via Route 97 takes about 40 minutes.
Tips
Early April in Jeju can be windy, so a light jacket is useful even on a warm day. The fields are photographable from multiple angles along clearly marked paths. Visiting on a weekday around the same bloom dates avoids the festival-weekend crowds. The nearby Jeju Stone Park pairs well with the same trip.
