About this festival
Founded in 1999, the Busan International Rock Festival is one of Asia's longest-running outdoor rock events, drawing lineups that have included international headliners alongside the best of Korean indie and rock. The park setting on the wide Nakdong riverbanks gives the festival a spacious atmosphere distinct from urban concert venues. The 2026 edition (October 2 to 4) arrives fresh from its first-ever MCST Cultural Tourism Festival designation, cementing its status as a nationally significant music event.
Getting there
Take Busan Metro Line 2 to Sasang Station, then transfer to the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit (BGL) to Gwaebeop Renecite Station and walk 15 minutes, or take city buses 123 or 126 to Samnak Eco Park. From Busan KTX Station, Metro Line 1 to Seomyeon then Line 2 to Sasang, total about 30 minutes.
Tips
Multi-day and single-day tickets are sold online through NOL Ticket and similar Korean platforms. Tent camping is typically available within the park grounds. Busan's October weather is usually mild and dry, making outdoor conditions comfortable. The festival is predominantly Korean-language between sets, but the music needs no translation.
