About this festival

Bucheon has positioned itself as Korea's capital of imagination, home to the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and this comics counterpart, BICOF. The 2026 festival runs September 18 to 20, filling the Korea Cartoon Museum and Animation Promotion Agency with exhibitions spanning manhwa, manga, European BD, and American comics, alongside a dealer's hall and industry conference programme. Bucheon holds UNESCO Creative City of Literature status, giving the comics festival additional institutional backing.

Getting there

Take Seoul Metro Line 1 or 7 to Bucheon Station (about 30 minutes from Seoul Station). The Korea Cartoon Museum at 1 Gilju-ro, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon is a 10-minute walk from Bucheon Station Exit 2.

Tips

Admission is 5,000 won. Many exhibitors and panels have English-language materials; the festival draws Korean webtoon artists whose work many international readers already follow online. Cosplay is welcomed and prominent at the event. The nearby BiFan fantastic film festival runs in July, making Bucheon a two-festival destination for genre fans.
