Employer’s description
🚀 We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone. We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking. After starting as a prepaid card, our product offering has grown a lot in the last 10 years in the UK. As well as personal and business bank accounts, we offer joint accounts, accounts for 16-17 year olds, a free kids account and credit cards in the UK, with more exciting things to come beyond. Our UK customers can also save, invest and combine their pensions with us. With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers! We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️ 📍London or Remote (UK) | 💰£100,000 - £133,000 + Benefits | We’re looking for several Product Marketing Leads to set the market intelligence and product strategy for individual product Collectives. At Monzo, Product Marketing is a global product-market fit discipline rather than a GTM discipline. We’re embedded in squads with PMs, Designers and User Researchers, shaping products and propositions by acting as the voice of the market (UK, Ireland, Spain and future markets). We then partner closely with Integrated Marketing, who lead marketing strategy and execution, to bring those propositions to customers. Together, we aim to build and market category-leading products. If that’s your flavour of product marketing, Monzo is for you. This is a player/coach role. You'll own Product Marketing for a Collective: understanding customers, shaping product strategy, defining positioning, and guiding how launches land in the market. If you love influencing what gets built as much as how it's communicated, you'll feel at home here. Where you could join: • Wealth is building the future of how people grow their money: helping millions of customers save, invest, and plan for retirement with the same simplicity and trust they expect from their current account. It spans Savings, Investments, Pensions, Insurance, and brand new kinds of wealth-building experiences. This is a role for someone who wants to challenge how traditional wealth products work to make growing money (finally) feel simpler and more useful for everyday customers. • MonzOS is the intelligence layer of Monzo: an AI-powered operating system that helps customers find the right product, insight or action at the right moment. It brings together personalisation, recommendations, search and in-app discovery to make Monzo feel more useful every time someone opens the app. This is a role for someone who is excited by the challenge of making Monzo feel simple, trusted and indispensable in people’s financial lives. • EU is building Monzo for millions of customers across Europe, taking what people love about Monzo in the UK and making it work brilliantly in new markets. This role will lead consumer market insight and competitor discovery for new countries, while supporting growth in already-live markets like Ireland and Spain. This is a role for someone who loves figuring out how to win a market: turning customer insight, competitor analysis and local context into practical, provocative choices for product and marketing. Key Responsibilities You and your team will… • Set strategy for multiple categories. You'll own a one-year product marketing strategy for a complex, multi-product Collective. You will work to define how Monzo wins in multiple categories with multiple products over time. • Set the market intelligence agenda. You'll decide what we need to understand about our customers, competitors, and the market. You’ll identify and size opportunities, and build the frameworks other teams use to prioritise and respond. • Shape what gets built. You'll use market intelligence to shape product strategy across multiple areas, bringing a perspective that changes what we build and in what order. You'll sit alongside Product leadership, driving commercial outcomes through product differentiation. • Define positioning that moves the business. You'll ensure every product starts with a customer problem, differentiated positioning, and a proposition worth talking about. You’ll demonstrate that positioning will shift customer perception and move revenue at scale. • Own how we go to market. You'll decide when products launch, with what mechanic, and in what order, so launches across the Collective add up to more than a run of releases. You'll give Integrated Marketing a brief sharp enough that they never have to guess, then feed what the market tells you back into the proposition. • Raise the bar for Product Marketing. You'll define what great looks like through high standards, coaching, feedback, and better systems. You'll improve how PMM works by embedding AI into our workflows, tools, and playbooks. On the manager track, you'll also be accountable for the development, performance, and careers of a small team. Great PMMs come from all sorts of places. This is for you if: • You think beyond a single product. You're comfortable owning strategy across multiple products and categories, where work spans multiple squads and the decisions have business-wide implications. • You own the hardest calls in your domain. You're trusted to make high-stakes positioning and strategy decisions independently, and you're right often enough that Product and Marketing leadership seek your judgement. You're comfortable making difficult trade-offs between commercial needs, customer experience, and competitive urgency when the right answer isn't obvious. • You bring senior people with you. You build consensus around difficult decisions, influence senior stakeholders across disciplines, and create clarity out of ambiguity. People look to you for guidance when the path forward isn't obvious. • You're a player/coach. You still want to do the hardest strategic work yourself while coaching others through feedback, mentoring, and high standards. Whether or not you're a people manager, your impact is visible in the growth of the people around you. The Interview Process Our interview process involves three main stages: • Initial Call (45mins) • Case Study Presentation (1hour) • x2 final interviews via Google Meet (45mins for each interview) This process should take around 3-4 weeks - your schedule is really important to us, so we promise to be as flexible as possible! We have some guidelines on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ace an application and interview at Monzo. You can read them here. You’ll hear from us throughout the application process, but if you’ve got any questions, please reach out to hiring@monzo.com. You can also use this email address to let us know if there’s anything we can do to make the process easier for you because of disability, neurodiversity or anything else. What’s in it for you: • £100,000 - £133,000 as a base salary • This role will be based out of our London office next to Liverpool Street station in a hybrid approach of office based and home working, or remotely within the UK • We offer flexible working hours and trust you to work enough hours to do your job well, at times that suit you and your team. • Learning budget of £1,000 a year for books, training courses and conferences • And much more, see our full list of benefits here We’ll only close this role once we have enough applications for the next stage. Please submit your application as soon as possible to make sure you don’t miss out. #LI-JB1 #LI-REMOTE Equal opportunities for everyone Diversity and inclusion are a priority for us and we’re making sure we have lots of support for all of our people to grow at Monzo.
