Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games. Discord's Payments, Fraud & Risk team enables revenue growth and protects Discord's financial health by managing payments optimization and fraud risk as a strategic function. We operate across three core areas: identifying and mitigating large-scale fraud to enable clean revenue, optimizing the cost of payments through chargeback strategy and card network fee mitigation, and partnering with Product, Revenue, and Engineering early to surface and address fraud risk — so Discord can launch with confidence and maximize revenue outcomes. As Discord matures, this team serves as the connective tissue between Payments Strategy, Engineering, Legal, Product, and Revenue — embedding fraud and financial risk expertise into everything Discord does, with a bias toward enabling growth.
