The VP, Director External Reporting & Technical Accounting leads a team of experienced accounting professionals responsible for the preparation of Nuveen's quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as providing technical accounting guidance on complex transactions. This role holds end-to-end accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of external financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements, and provides strategic accounting support on mergers, acquisitions, and other complex business transactions. Key Responsibilities and Duties • Leads the team responsible for the preparation and review of Nuveen's quarterly and annual audited financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and conformance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS and internal reporting standards, and ensuring all deliverables are produced on a timely basis in accordance with established reporting calendars. • Coordinates with external auditors, legal, tax, and other key stakeholders to facilitate a well-controlled and efficient audit and reporting cycle. • Serves as the organization's primary technical accounting resource, providing authoritative guidance and…
