Mercor is seeking experienced Public Interest Attorneys to evaluate AI-generated legal reasoning across a broad range of civil justice matters. You'll review realistic legal scenarios, assess legal analysis, identify reasoning gaps, and provide structured expert feedback to improve AI performance. This role is ideal for attorneys with backgrounds in nonprofit advocacy, civil litigation, impact litigation, or public interest law.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated legal analyses for legal accuracy and practical usefulness.
- Evaluate scenarios involving housing, family law, consumer protection, debt collection, and bankruptcy.
- Assess legal reasoning, issue spotting, procedural correctness, and litigation strategy.
- Identify legal errors and recommend improvements.
- Deliver structured written evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD).
- Active U.S. bar admission.
- 5+ years practicing public interest or civil litigation.
- Strong experience in civil legal advocacy.
- Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at nonprofit legal organizations or impact litigation firms.
- Expertise in employment law, elder law, or disability rights.
- Experience with policy advocacy or systemic reform.
- Experience supervising attorneys or legal fellows.
- Interest in legal AI or emerging legal technology.
