Full-stack engineer reviewing AI-generated code
Listed on Alignerr as “Full Stack Engineer”
What this actually is
You review AI-generated code, rank model outputs against each other, write prompts that test edge cases, and provide expert feedback that gets used to train coding models. Not shipping production software. The platform title (Full Stack Engineer) reflects the rate band and the expertise required, not the day-to-day work.
Can you do this on your visa?
F-2 / F-4 / F-5 / F-6: open. E-1 to E-7: needs concurrent-employment permit. D-2 / D-4 students: S-3 permit, 20 hr/week cap. D-10 / D-8: case by case.

Full Stack Engineer (AI Training)
About the Role
What if your full-stack expertise could directly shape how AI writes and understands code for millions of developers around the world? We're looking for experienced Full Stack Engineers to evaluate AI-generated code, review system designs, and help train the next generation of AI models - across the entire web stack.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for senior engineers who want to do something meaningfully different with their skills. You'll work alongside world-leading AI research labs, applying your real-world engineering experience to make AI smarter, safer, and more technically rigorous.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10-40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Evaluate AI-generated code across the full stack - frontend (React, Vue) and backend (Node, Python, C#) - for correctness, efficiency, and best practices
- Design and build full-stack tooling to support AI data annotation and quality control workflows
- Review complex system architectures and provide detailed, actionable feedback on scalability and performance
- Identify subtle bugs, edge cases, and architectural weaknesses in AI-produced code
- Document your evaluations clearly and consistently using structured formats
- Work independently and asynchronously - on your own schedule
Who You Are
- 3-5+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience writing production-grade code
- Proficient across the stack - JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and ideally Rust
- Strong grasp of system design principles, performance trade-offs, and scalable architecture
- Exceptionally clear written communicator - you can explain complex technical decisions concisely
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field from a reputable university
- Self-directed and reliable when working independently without close supervision
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed systems, developer tooling, or AI/ML workflows
- Familiarity with AI model evaluation or data annotation pipelines
- Background in open-source development, technical writing, or code review at scale
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible - work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, technically rigorous work
- Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and generates code at scale
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
